1/29/2010 - 4/25/2010 (Museum is closed on Mondays) Beginning January 29, 2010, the Forest Lawn Museum in Glendale will present “Chris Hopkins: Honoring Northwest Coast Native Culture." The exhibit will feature art depicting both historical scenes and images that show the reemergence of a vibrant contemporary Native culture. Hopkins has created art from the native point of view with exceptional historical accuracy. Hopkins has distinguished himself with numerous awards and honors from the art and entertainment communities, with acknowledgments from the AIGA, the Society of Illustrators, and many others, as well as the Vargas Achievement Award, nominations for a Grammy Award for Album Package Design, and finalist for the prestigious Cleo award. Hopkins has often chosen projects that explore human potential in its diverse forms, and in the complex modern society of today, his paintings are known for their ability to reflect as well as influence the world.
